About the Author

Wing Commander (Retd) Dr U C Jha was awarded Ph D in Law and Governance by Jawaharlal Nehru University. He also holds masters degree in law, life sciences, business administration and defence and strategic studies; with post-graduate diplomas in intellectual property right laws, environmental laws, training and development, and international humanitarian law, refugee law and human rights laws. Wg Cdr Jha has 24 years of commissioned service to his credit. He has been visiting faculty at few law institutions and the United Services Institution of India, Delhi. His work comprises five books: "The Military Justice System in India: An Analysis", "The Armed Forces Tribunal", "Indian Armed Forces: Socio-Legal Perspective", "The South Asia Military Law Systems", "International Humanitarian Law - The Laws of War" and "Human Rights and Justice: International Documents"; and over 60 articles and research papers.
